Personal Profile
Throughout the years my family and I have been foster parents to over 25 children.
My husband I have four adult children. Three daughters, who were born to us, and a son who was adopted from WA State foster care. Believing that secrets are not healthy, it was our desire to stay in contact with our sons’ birth family. To that end, there has been intermittent communication throughout his growing up years. When he turned 21, he was at a point in his life, and so was his birth mom, where they could reconnect- this time on an adult level.
Being actively involved in my children’s day to day lives, has brought much fulfillment. Now, as an empty nester, I have time for others, to help them achieve that same enjoyment. Leisure activities I enjoy include sewing, reading, biking, camping, and most important of all, my role as a new grandparent.
Professional Background
I went to school on the 18 year plan, attending classes at night while being home with my children during the day. In 1992 I graduated with a BA in social work from Heritage University. In 1997 I earned an MA in Counseling Psychology. Throughout the years my family and I have been foster parents to over 25 children. While living in the state of WA I worked for a small adoption agency as a pregnancy counselor. After moving to Oregon I began working for a highly reputed international adoption agency as an adoption social worker. I remained with that agency for 10 years. I’m very excited to be part of the team that develops and grows the work of A New Beginning in Central and Eastern Oregon.

Personal Profile
I feel privileged to be part of each family’s journey and am humbled by the strength and commitment in planning for their child’s future.
Working in adoption touches every emotion. I feel privileged to be part of each family’s journey and am humbled by the strength and commitment in planning for their child’s future.
My husband Craig and I have three adult children. We have hosted two exchange students through our local Rotary club and have enjoyed having them join our family and share their stories. Family gatherings include great food, spirited conversations, laughter and outdoor adventures. Our live-in family includes Bode (dog), Lily (cat) and three hens. I enjoy gardening, hiking/skiing, walking the dog and traveling.
Professional Background
After graduating from the University of South Florida with a Bachelors Degree in Biology, I began my career teaching middle school. One year and 2000 miles later I arrived in Oregon ready for my husband to begin graduate school. We welcomed our first daughter two years later and my teaching path evolved with a focus on childbirth preparation and Lamaze training. The opportunity to work in adoption came as a result of working with birthmothers preparing to give birth and struggling with a decision to parent. My 15 years of adoption experience includes birth parent counseling and adoptive family preparation.
